Every Ramadan there is a routine agenda, namely the annual World Quran Hour (WQH) event. The concept of WQH initially invited Muslims around the world to pause and take the time to read the Quran for one hour, as well as understand it. As part of grounding the Quran and achieving Allah's mercy and blessings in the holy month of Ramadan.
WQH first arrived in 2015 in Malaysia as the initial center of its movement. This year, WQH has entered its tenth year. And every year there is a letter as a big mission, 2025 takes As-Saff as a mission that will be studied, read and interpreted by all Muslims in the world, simultaneously. So, WQH is actually a Quranic movement together simultaneously throughout the world, to read, understand, and practice the Quran in everyday life.
World Quran Hour, a worldwide movement, a place for Muslims to gather by reading, understanding, and practicing His words. The annual World Quran Hour (WQH) event that is routinely held every Ramadan is held again. In 2025, Quran Cordoba held it on March 22, 2025, or Ramadan 22 at Pusdai West Java.
By taking one of the surahs in the Koran as a major theme. In 2025, Surah As-Saff was chosen, a call to worship, to strengthen faith, to stand in one line as a people. Last year, Surah Al-Jumuah was the theme, a surah that was simultaneously recited together.
Based on research, 65 percent of the Indonesian population cannot read the Quran properly, even to the point of Quran illiteracy.
The hope is that WQH for participants who cannot read the Quran, want to learn to read from scratch and love the Quran. Meanwhile, those who are not fluent in reading well and correctly will be able to improve their learning of tajweed, tahsin, and memorizing the Quran.
World Quran Hour is an effort to invite Muslims to read, memorize, understand and practice the Quran. By taking the mission of one of the surahs, we can find out which Surah As-Saff is, how many verses there are, what its character is, what is its content, and be studied scientifically (tadabur) the meaning and meaning of each verse.
For information, WQH was initiated by Yayasan (Warisan Ummah Ikhlas / WUIF) Malaysia since 2015 and is expanding worldwide as part of the campaign to ground the Koran in the world. In Indonesia itself, WQH has begun to be followed the following year and is routinely carried out by the publisher of the Cordoba Quran with its partners every year such as 2025 with WARDAH.
These are some of the conclusions and results of the campaign from the World #QuranHour agenda of the essence of the Semarakkan Cinta Al-Quran:
1. The World Quran Hour program, which has a routine agenda every year, takes place every Ramadan, in Indonesia Quran Cordoba will be held at the Pusda'i Mosque in West Java, March 22, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to finish. It needs all parties to support it.
2. World Quran Hour, which has started its movement in Indonesia in 2016, is an interesting program that gathers people together to read the Quran while studying (mentadabbur) some of the verses read in order to get teaching as the word of Allah S.W.T means, guided by several Kiayi and Al-Quran scholars;
"That is the Book in which there is no doubt, a guide for the pious" [Q:S. Al-Baqarah: 2].
3. In 2025, the surah chosen as the mission is Surah As-Saff, which contains several guidelines for preaching, glorifying, keeping the people in one line, and so on.
4. Although it is only held once a year, it must be remembered that the Quran must be read, understood, and practiced every day. In this glorious month of Ramadan, we are even more eager to read and live the verses of Allah SWT which contain teachings for our lives.
5. Hopefully the good syiar of WQH 2025 will continue to be consistent as one of the ways to bring people closer to the Al-Quran, it has been 10 years and in the same period hopefully the Al-Quran that is read and understood will be our intercession in the future. Amin
