World Quran Hour 2025 was successfully held at Pusdai Mosque Bandung with the theme of Surat As-Saff: Saving the Ummah. More than 2,000 worshipers participated in khataman, tadabur, and tausiyah ulama to deepen the meaning of the Qur'an. The support of Quran Cordoba and Wardah inspires the unity of Muslims globally.
Bandung - The Pusdai Mosque in Bandung was packed with more than 2,000 worshipers on Saturday, March 22, 2025, coinciding with Ramadan 22, during the World Quran Hour (WQH) 2025 event held by Quran Cordoba in collaboration with Wardah. The activity themed "Surat As-Saff: Saving the Ummah" aims to save the Ummah with the guidance of the Qur'an and awaken the spirit of unity of Muslims around the world.
Since 08.00 WIB, pilgrims in predominantly white clothes began to arrive. The event officially started at 09.00 WIB, hosted by Kang Nugie and Kang Daan. In addition to holding the khataman Al-Qur'an, participants were invited to take part in a joint tadabur which aims to deepen their understanding of the Al-Qur'an and increase closeness to Allah SWT.
A large photo booth with the words "World Quran Hour 2025" and the logos of the main sponsors, Quran Cordoba and Wardah, welcomed the participants. As a token of appreciation, 1,000 Quran copies were distributed to lucky worshippers before the event began.
The event was opened with the recitation of Surat As-Saff by Ustaz Ahmad Komarudin. In his speech, the President Director of Quran Cordoba, Mr. Usman El-Qurtubi, explained the importance of this event as part of a global movement that was initiated in Malaysia in 2015 and has now reached more than 300 locations in 76 countries.
"This is a special moment, simultaneously around the world to bring the Qur'an to life in hearts and minds. Quran Cordoba is committed to spreading the Mushaf, providing education, and training to increase love for the Qur'an," said Usman. "We thank Wardah as the main sponsor who has supported this activity."
The Chairman of LPMQ, Ustaz Abdul Aziz Sidqi MA, also expressed his appreciation for this event. "WQH activities are very useful for reading, understanding, and practicing the Qur'an together. LPMQ fully supports this kind of event," he said.
The tausiyah series was filled by several well-known scholars. KH. Miftah Faridh emphasized the importance of closeness to the Qur'an, while Ustaz Bilal Attaqi invited the congregation to take salawat and live the message of love in Surat As-Saff.
Ustaz Tyzen Alhakimi reminded that the Qur'an is a matchless glory and encouraged the congregation to stay away from sin. Habib Ali Alkaff conveyed the importance of obeying Allah and carrying out the commands in the Qur'an, while Ustaz Ahmad Heryawan reminded how easy Islam is if understood properly.
Tadabur Surat As-Saff, hosted by KH Abdul Aziz Abdul Rauf, was the highlight of the event. "Surah As-Saff provides great wisdom in uniting people. The Qur'an is not only to be read, but also to be reflected in everyday life," he said.
As the main sponsor, Wardah also presented the Global Quran Movement program conducted in various countries, including the UK, America, South Korea, and Medina. Mbak Findi from Wardah hopes that this program can continue and provide broad benefits. "Wardah wants to continue to contribute to the spread of goodness through the Qur'an," she said.
The event ended with the recitation of the Qur'an by Ustaz Usman El-Qurtubi, Ustaz Ahmad Komarudin, and other qori. The chanting of the holy verses of the Qur'an echoed in all corners of the mosque, creating a solemn and emotional atmosphere.
May the spirit of Surah As-Saff, saving the ummah continue to burn, uniting the ranks of Muslims in Indonesia and around the world in the shade of the Qur'an. Inspire us to love and live with the Quran.
The participants expressed their appreciation for the organization of this event. "I hope this event can continue every year," said Maryam from Soreang. Ferdi, a young man from Bandung, expressed his happiness to be able to participate in this activity.
The event ended solemnly, taking a group photo in a special spot provided with WQH's tagline, "A Nation of Wisdom and Compassion". Before the Duhur call to prayer, the MC closed the event with the final prayer of the majlis and the hope that WQH will continue to be a means of bringing people closer to the Qur'an and become an inspiration for the good of the people.
This is the wisdom of World Quran Hour 2025, leaving a deep spiritual imprint in the month of Ramadan in the hearts of the worshipers, and reaffirming the commitment to make the Qur'an a guide for life in this world.
